The poster may say 1 & 2 but this is 100% all about Little Nightmares 2.

I must say, this was a fantastic game! I have played the first one and unlike the sequel trend it is (controversially) better than its predecessor. Much like the first, the eeriness builds and builds and there is one section (see further down in the spoilies section) that really brought out the fear of Weeping Angels in me. If you know, you know.

I really enjoyed how this game shows how the new protagonist ties into the storyline of the first game and semi mind-fucks you. The overall game takes you through a range of environments, all of which are absolutely beautiful. Also would recommend watching the Doctor Who episode “Blink” for the refs but also for the spooks. I would 100% recommend playing this game, I absolutely adored it and definitely will be playing the third instalment of this universe of games, so look forward to that!

From this point there will be incredibly HEAVY SPOILERS

I’ll paint a picture. You start off as a little bag-headed boy venturing into a strange house, with the aim of escaping this giant area. In this house you happen upon none other than… Six! Or yellow raincoat person! Which is super cute because you can hold hands. Once you escape the creepy hunter guy chasing you through the forest, you enter a city of TVs (oOooO).

You then realise that Bag Boy can use the TVs as portals to get to a super secret dreamscape but Six pulls you out whenever you get too close to the door at the end. Pretty damn mysterious.

There, of course, are many creepy enemies to hide from and evade throughout, the first of which is the long-boi teacher in the school. She’s pretty bad, but not quite the Weeping Angels vibe. This teacher can really see over everyone’s shoulders because there’s a pretty cool section where you hide in a room, lure the teacher in and then do some sneaky manoeuvres to get around her.

This next section… the bloody mannequins. Absolutely terrifying. They only move if you don’t have a light on them and I will admit that it took me a while to get through this and figure out the tactic for getting around the spooky headless mannequins. But my god did this stick with me. Was absolutely terrifying.

All the while, occasionally you come across some TVs which suction little bag head into the TV, on a few occasions there’s an incredibly tall man at the end. This part comes to a head when one time Six pulls you out and the tall man follows you both and captures Six. So now the time to rescue Six has come. And she’s a monstrosity. After some little door connecting puzzles, you finally find giant gremlin Six guarding a music box… which you’re obviously going to smash to pieces whilst she swipes at you.

Eventually escape and sweet freedom are in sight, except Six being the little psychopath she is pushes you into a hole and escapes. Which I was so mad about, the entire game we held hands, we saved her and she’s just being a little bitch about it all.

Anyway, the final kicker is bag head with nothing else to do sits in a chair and ultimately becomes the tall man. This did make me tear up slightly, it seemed like the whole game this bag head boy just wanted to help and be benevolent and ultimately he got a bad end.

I didn’t get all of the collectibles in my first run so I’ll definitely replay it to try and get 100%.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Feel free to like this post or leave a comment if you have thoughts on the game, or just want to say hi.
